Fluorescent Colors and UV
The color spectrum is much larger than we can perceive! The range moves from invisible, low-energy infrared rays to high-energy ultraviolet rays. The ‘visible light spectrum’, or the colors that we see, are actually in the middle of the range.
Normal color absorbs and re-emits a portion of the visible spectrum that matches its principal wavelength, while the remaining colors are absorbed and dissipated as heat. In this way, a regular orange color re-emits back to your eye just the narrow orange band of the visible light spectrum. Therefore, if there is little or no orange light around (such as early dawn or dusk) the orange surface would appear dark or even black.
How do fluorescent colors behave differently?
Fluorescent colors use a larger amount of both the visible spectrum and the lower wavelengths compared to conventional colors. They not only absorb and convert light energy of the dominant wavelength, but also the wavelengths of ultraviolet rays and other colors lower in the visible spectrum. As a result, your eye perceives a far more intense color.
Where a clean, bright conventional color is able to reflect a maximum of 90% of a color present in the spectrum; a fluorescent color can reflect as much as 200% to 300%

Salmon fishing in the San Fransisco Bay area.
Special Report from Dale Meyer on Coastside.
Short version.... 4 for 3. 21# 10# and two 25 inchers. All came on herring bait with FBR's with Kone Zone Flashers. Got all 4 trolling back and forth between DR1 and Dux reef. Slow pick. Sun came out and the wind picked up around noon. It got a bit lumpy but was still fishable.

2011 Sitka Sportsman's King Salmon Derby winner
Petersburg resident Steve Burrell wins Sitka Salmon Derby June 5th 2011
Steve reported he used a 9" Chartreuse UV KoneZone Trolling Flasher which landed him in 1st place with a 45.6 pound King Salmon.
Although skipper Lloyd Swanson wasn’t that experienced he offered his 18 foot Lund boat and provided the rods and reels. On Saturday Steve Burrell had told all of his work buddies that he was going to win the derby on Sunday. There was limited selection to choose from so Steve Burrell picked a heavy Halibut style rod with a Senator reel on it. The fish took the bait and was landed in front of the Channel Club in Sitka Alaska. As the fish surfaced the KoneZone was visible even a hundred yards away. It took 10 - 15 minuets of fighting the fish before Lloyd Swanson was at the ready with a trout net in hand. The fish was half in and half out of the net. With a tired fish and no shortage of finesse they managed to get it into the boat. Steve knew the fish was over 40 pounds and said head to the derby barge now. When they arrived everyone present knew this was a fish to be reckoned with.
Steve Burrell from Petersburg Alaska has fished the KoneZone in his home waters of Petersburg Alaska for years. While fishing in Sitka he wasn’t surprised when the reel started to sing. The KoneZone 9” Chartreuse UV Flasher had done it again. It had just attracted the 45.6 # King Salmon. Steve was going to land the winner of the 2011 Sitka Sportsman’s King Salmon Derby
Congratulations go out to Lloyd Swanson, Skipper of the 18 foot Lund.
And of course to the 2011 Sitka Sportsman's King Salmon Derby winner Steve Burrell.
Steve is going to split the prize 50/50 with Lloyd.
Thanks for using the MADE IN THE USA KoneZone Trolling Flasher.

SF Bay trolling with KoneZone
May 15 2011
Just got an order in from KoneZone on Friday and wanted to try out some of my new toys. Headed to Berkeley to see if I couldn't find a few flatties. Headed to the frontside of Angel just before slack and trolled that area for nada. Then headed over to SBS and started trolling south in 14-18 feet of water. Picked up a 26" striper and later a leopard shark. No love from the flatties for us but it was a nice day on the bay. The wind would pick up and then drop off, pick up and drop off.
Water temp was 53 at Angel island, I believe 58 in the south bay.
Trolled popsicles on a Krippled anchovy with a hoochie over it and a 50/50 green UV KoneZone flasher.

Here is Bob's report.
First of all I want to thank all that were involved in putting the OPM 2011 Halibut - Striper Derby together, We were very successful as the results show. We ended the day with 12 Halibut up to 20.5 #'s fishing SB shoals in a very, very small area, Trolling anchovies and herring. We couldn't have done it with out the KoneZone Trolling Flashers. Anglers need to take these things seriously when trolling for Halibut. It’s not a fluke that I’ve been fishing them for 4 years now with great success. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. KoneZone Flashers put fish in the box which brings clients back. We are looking forward to a successful Halibut season again this year. As for colors, every day and water clarity will change the line up. Greens, whites, UV's, the new ChromeZone by KoneZone Flashers all work great.
Thanks,
Capt. Bob Monckton
